Beckham of Kentucky for tho return of P. J- Luster, who Is being be-ing held at Ogden as a fugitive from Justice. Jus-tice. Luster Is charged with having murdered mur-dered his wlfo at Guthrie, Ky., three-weeks three-weeks ago. Kentucky Officers Here. Sheriff C. E. Gill of Todd county. Kentucky, Ken-tucky, and City Marshal R. L. Burrls of Gulhrlo arrived In the city yesterday from Kentucky, armed with a requisition for the return of Luster. Thoy stopped In Ogden and Identified tho prisoner. After securing a w;urnnt from the Governor Gov-ernor thev returned to Ogden and will start on their return trip with tho prisoner pris-oner today. Was Cold-Blooded Murder. Tho murder, according to tho statements state-ments of tho officers, was most coldblooded. cold-blooded. Mrs. Luster w-as about to become be-come a mother. There had been trouble between her and her husband for several months. On the evening of thp murder thoy were seen together on the front porch of their residence, and there was apparonlly no trouble. They retired, and tho next morning- Luster, who waa manager man-ager of tho telephono exchange, did not show uj at his office. Murderer Disappeared. During the day efforts were made to call the Luster home by telephone, but no ' response was gotten. An Investigation Investiga-tion of his accounts was then under way and it was said he waH short to tho company com-pany about SSOO. It was thought this was tho cause of his disappearance. No stops were taken to Investigate mattoi-3 at his homo until the second morning. Found Body in House. Marshal Burrls and an official of tho telephono company went to the house and, finding It locked, broke In the door. They wero horrified to iind Mrs. Luster a fast decomposing body in the bed, with a bullet hole in the- head. She hal oyl-dcntlv oyl-dcntlv been shot while asleep. Tho bullet entered tho right side of the head, near tho temple, and was found Imbedded Just back of tho ear on tho other sldo of tho head. Located in. Ogden. Luster had thirty-six hours' start of the officers, but they got on his trail and located lo-cated him about ten days ago at Ogden, where ho was taken Into custody. He Is said to have confessed to the crime. Tho Kentucky officers think ho will make a plea of lnsnnlty. Had Planned the Murder. Somo davs before tho killing of Mrs. Luster, Luster was talking with a physician physi-cian and asked at what point a shot fired Into tho body would produce tho quickest death, and was told that a shot through tho temple, ranging backward, back-ward, would probably bring Instantaneous death. The wound In Mrs Luster's head showed that ho had followed these directions direc-tions to tho letter. Belonged to Prominent Family. Tho dead woman belonged to a prominent promi-nent family of Nnahvllle, Tenn. Luster had been In tho employ of tho Cumberland Cumber-land Telephone company for several years and had chargo of two other exchanges ex-changes besides that at Guthrie.
