Show 1 AN ORDINANCE. , AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE keeping and storing of explosives vithln tho limits of Salt Lako county, and out-sldo out-sldo tho limits of incorporated cities and towns therein. The Board of County Commissioners of tho county of Suit Lake ordains aa follows: fol-lows: 8cction 1. It shall be unlawful for any poreon to erect or maintain In Salt Lako county any maguzlno for the storage of oxploalvos, within three hundred feet of any road, highway, railway used for passenger pas-senger traffic, or building where pcoplo livp or gather: or to construct such mag-nzlne mag-nzlne of other than fireproof material, such as brick, adobo, rock, iron, steel, or by excavation Into tho sldo of a hill or mountain; or to fall to provide such mag-nzlno mag-nzlno with double doors and shutters over any openings, such doors or shutters to be of non-combustlblo material. Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to keep or store In any enclosure, building, car, mine, or place of business, In Salt Lako county, any gunpowder, lant or hercule powder, nitro-glyccrlne, ynamlte, atlas, venture, or other high explosive, except In a mapazlne as described de-scribed in section 1 of this ordlnanco; Provided, that a sample of gunpowder, giant or herculce powder, not to exceed ten pounds, may bo kept In any licensed place of business where such explosives are sold, and tho amount so kepi shall be stored In canisters or original packages and placed In a vault of construction ap-i proved by the Sheriff of Salt Lako county, coun-ty, and located at an accessible point not nearer than ten feet to any othor building; build-ing; and provided, further, that any parson par-son may keep. In a canister or fiauk, for his own use, not to exceed six and one-quarter one-quarter pounds of gunpowder; and It shall ba unlawful to ecll or wclgn gunpowder, giant or hercules powder, or othor high oxploslve, by gas, lamp, candle or fire light, unless In eealed cans or canisters. Section 3. It shall be unlawful for any person to keop or store giant or horcules powder caps, or caps used to cxplodo giant or horculss pc-wdT, unless they be hi cases, separate from any kind of explosive ex-plosive powder; If kept In a powder magazine, maga-zine, thoy shall be kept n a separato vault or safe; If kept at a placo or business, busi-ness, they shall be in a vault or safo separato sep-arato and removed from all other explosives, explo-sives, as provided In section 2 of this ordlnanco or-dlnanco for- tho storage of camples of exploslvos. Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to manurocturo nny combustible or explosive acids or othor chemicals or boll or refine oils, or maintain, erect, or causo to be erected any works for tho manufacture of combustible or explosive acids or other chemicals, or for tho boil, lng or refining of oils, within forty rods of any dwelllng-houso or placo of business. busi-ness. Section 5. The Board of County Com- moval of any magazine for the keeping or utorlng of explosives, and It shall be unlawful un-lawful for any person having control of any such magazine to refuse, for a period pe-riod of thirty days, to comply with any such order of removal. Any person violating any of tho provisions of this ordlnanco shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor Section 8.
