Show Suit lo Recover Junk Several days ago J W Jcttcr one of the proprietors of a junk shop near the corner of State and Eighth South streets was convicted on the charge of receiving stolen goods and sent to the county jail for six months The alleged stolen property consisted of about 1000 pounds of copper brass Iron wire and other such stuff Among this were several brass journals belong I ing to the Oregon Short Line Railway company The search warrant which i had been sworn to by E R Alford had merely recited that there was in tIC possession of Jetter three brass journals jour-nals While the officers were hunting for the aforesaid Journals however they found and brought to the station junk of various kinds that had evident I I ly been stolen Since the sentence of Jctter the junk has been lying around the station and yesterday the Utah I Junk company brought suit to recover i the plunder Benner X Smith who represented the Junk company claimed that all tho railway company or Is1 agents had any right to take and hold i was the specific properly named in the search warrant The Judge so held Later a complaint was sworn to charging charg-ing the Junk people with receiving the balance of the plunder knowing the same to have been stolen The case will be heard on Saturday |
