Jackson, alias "Logan & Co.," who have been sending ou circulars cir-culars promising to furnish counterfeit money for a certain percentage, were sent to B ackweil's island for six months, by Judge Dowiing. A search of their premises, at John St., revealed, re-vealed, letters from apparently respectable respect-able persons in different sections of the country, who were willing to engage in the business of uttering counterfeit money. An idea of the extent of their operations may be gleaned from the fact, that seven days' cash receipts from their dupes were ;0, 000. Parties Par-ties in the Suite of South Carolina alpne sent for .217,000. The aliases of "Logan e"c Co.,'' are numerous, and their ramifications extend throughout the country. |
