Show ACCIDEXT Oy THE CB5Tfi.ll PACIFIC RAILROAD. Yesterday morning, when the westward-bound Central Paeifb express train was about half a mile above Pen-ryn, Pen-ryn, en route for the city, an accident occurred which resulted iu two coaches, the last cars of the train, being thrown from the track down a slight embankment, embank-ment, greatly to the alarm, it may readily be believed, of the occupants, though very fortunately no broken bones or serious injuries were inflicted. It is thought that the locomotives drawing the train bioke the rail as they passed over it, but that the pieces remained in place until the last .two coaches reached them. As soon as possible the passengers occupying the unfortunate cars were released from their unpleasant predicament by the conductor andothers, and furnished with accommodations in the sleeping and other cars, w hich came on to the city, arriving about half an hour behind be-hind time. The railroad company's physician was in attendance at the depot de-pot on the arrival of the train, ready to render all needed assistance, but he found but little call for his services, as the injured were all able to continue on to their respective destinations. jb'ttc-ramento jb'ttc-ramento Union. |
