Show i 1 I ROW ABOUT A THEATRE Sale of Property Under Foreclosure Brought On a Riot Lfn oln Neb Dec 5The Lansing theatre the leading playhouse in the city was this morning before daylight dismantled of most of its inside furnishings fur-nishings almost a riot accompanying j the work and as a result J F Lansing i i Lan-sing half owner L C Burr and Roscoe I Ros-coe Pound his attorneys and a score of laborers were today arrested I I The trouble is the outcome of the sale of the property under foreclosure a week ago Mr Lansing claimed that there was a conspiracy to defraud him out of his holdings The district court however confirmed the sale on Saturday Satur-day and declared the title vested in the purchaser William Oliver of New York Between 2 and 3 oclock Lansing Lan-sing his attorneys and a number of stage hands gained entrance and began be-gan to remove scenery and chairs Agents of Oliver were notified and in the controversy which followed there was a personal collision between attorneys attor-neys of the rival claimants The police quelled the disturbance about the time it began to be interesting interest-ing Later warrants were sworn out and the Lansing party was arrested being released on bail Paid Herself Off Ardmore I T Dec 5At the close of the performance of Samuel of Po sen by the 1 B Curtis company at the opera house here tonight Nellie H Fillmore the cashier disappeared with the evenings receipts Later she was arrested and released on bond Miss Fillmore claims that Curtis owed her and that she took this means of paying herself |
