rather this morning about 4 oclock They gained an entrance to the oflice through the waiting room The waiting room is f locked and they entered with a pass key which was found this morning 4 morn-ing on the floor After gaining a entrance en-trance to the waiting room they used a chisel to pry open the door leading to the office After this they drilled a small hole in the safe door put in tom esrlosive and blew the door entirely en-tirely off from the hinges and clear across the room Thy then took the small money compartment out of the sate across the track south of the depot de-pot about three hundred yards and there broke the door open and took all the money about 15 They left the checks insurance papers and other valuables untouched About 4 oclock this morning the telephone attendant at the central office of-fice says the telephone rang from the Union Pacific depot He got out of bed and answered the call but no one responded so he went back to bed It is supposed that the concussion from the explosion jarred the telephone tele-phone sufficiently to cause it to ring I is supposed that these fellows are the same men who burglarized the R O CV di riot at Lehi Monday night Sheriff Brown and his deputies took 1 t he ease in charge this morning and at once struck the trail The men were heard of at Thistle on the line of the R G W The thieves are branded in good share I came about in this way They found some typewriters tape done ui > in tinfoil and thinking it cf some alue opened it up Finding what i was they squeezed It up in their hands and threw i down The ink on yesterday At the same time the schools are in firstclass condition with a corps of teachers who are a credit to their calling The school board are to be congratulated on the way in Which they have conducted the affairs of the district the last two years yearsMISCELLANEOUS r MISCELLANEOUS LOCALS Marriage licenses have been Issued by Clerk Jones to John Whittaker aged 42 and Elizabeth Nichols aged 37 of American Fork Edwin Wardle Weed aged 20 and Phoebe Elizabeth Smith aged 25 of Santaquin Deputy Sheriff Zimpleman of Carbon brought Charles Dilly of Helper to Provo today to place him in the asylum asy-lum Probate Judge L M Olson of Carbon county refused to sign the commitment com-mitment on the grounds that his official term had expired with statehood Two of the selectmen however signed the papers and the officers think there will be no trouble In getting him into the asylum Dilly was lying sick and when he heard the news of his father being drowned at sea went crazy He afterwards after-wards got better and learned that his father was alive and well and teaching teach-ing school he again lost his reason He is being held in the county jail pending an answer on the validity of
