1 Water Coming Up Slowly ia Kansas City April 15The river this morning had risen eight inches since i yesterday naking three inches above the danger line and is still coming up slowly The water is beginning to spread out over the lowlands and will 5 rise therefore more slowly Precautions taken against the flood have in most cases proved effective and r no very serious damage has been occasioned occa-sioned Two miles up the river the Burlington Burling-ton tracks are endangered and above r Kansas City Kan the Missouri Pacific Pa-cific tracks are only a little above the water The river is also getting dangerously dan-gerously near the Maple Leaf trestle 1l st of the families on Lewis island a small place at the mouth of the Kansas Kan-sas river have removed The place is 1 fi j I entirely submerged and the C water at the lowest points touches the eaves of the huts Harlem across the river is in a state of excitement as a very slight rise will bring the food injitrgn The riprapping has not proved huich of a succeess and the banks are caving in rapidly
