BUTLERS FLAT DENIAL Sends a Real Sassy Letter to the Reform Press Association Washington April 19IC the Populist party or any portion of it assembles in convention at Nashville on the fth of July as Is now proposed Chairman Butler will not be propose And you may quote me as saying he remarked today that any Populist who does attend defies the regular organization or-ganization of the party Mr Butler said that he had received the resolutions adopted at the Memphis conference suggesting that a conven tion be held and had submitted by mail to each of the members of the na tional committee The responses have been overwhelmingly In favor of non action no less than 75 taking the ad verse position while six straddled and only 1 were in favor of the convention conenton Senator Butler has sent to the committee com-mittee of the National Reform Press association which demanded that he issue is-sue a call a letter refusing to do so and giving his rasons for his refusal
