Show I I DELEGATES TO THE i I CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION L I I ii B H ROBERTS Was born on the 13th of March 1S57 in the town of Warrington Lancashire England He immigrated to Utah in 1856 His boyhjod was chiefly spent in Davis coupty king among the farmers and Jaier in the mining camps of Ophir and Jacob City Tooele county At 17 young Roberts was apprenticed to learn the blacksmith trade in the village of Cen terville Davis county his present home He foil od the occupation of blacksmith for four j ars and meantime having picked up such an education as the common com-mon schools of the county then afforded he acquired a love of books and determined deter-mined to impove his education He at tAT rl the Dcseret now Utah unlversi 4 B II KOHERTS ty and graduated from its normal department de-partment Soon after completing this course he was called to the ministry by the presidency of the Mormon church and from then until now has been chiefly engaged in that calling For many years lie thought o the law as a possible profession pro-fession and with that object in view read quite extensively the textbooks of the science He is well known as a deep thinker a conscientious worker and an orator of whom Utah is justly proud Added to this he is a Democrat ANDREW KIMBALL Andrew Kimball a Democratic delegate from the Third Salt Lake precinct was born in this city September C 1858 He was married to Miss Olive Woolley on February 2 1SS2 He served several years as a trustee of the Nineteenth school district dis-trict and was one of the first to advocate advo-cate < < free schools For a number of years lie allowed railroading but since ISX has been engaged in commercial pursuits In January 1SS5 he went to the Indian territory ter-ritory to labor among the five civilized tribes and on his return in 1S87 was t b r 1 ANDREW K33IBALI placed at the head of the Indian territory mission For three years after his return li Js traveled Rt a home missionary In the Salt Lake stake During this period he was reelected school trustee and established estab-lished a night school in his district which he attended as a pupil there enjoying Pet bct educational opportunities of his life 2C8M he removed to Brigham City and was chosen a member of its city council In 1S91 Soon after he returned to this city |
