Show r FROM MINING CAMPS The Operations at Park City Last Week BOGAN IS LOOKING WELL SINKING TIE SHAFT AT THE DALY NUMBER TWO t Slump Iroin insr Again at the Mar iacj MillWork at the Crescent Ore Shipments Tlie Con or Mill Burned Pioelic Record Notes The Park Record gives the following account of operations at the great sliver sli-ver camp The Anchor concentrator closed down Wednesday morning to allow some general repairs to be made The mill started up again Thursday morning morn-ing Stamps began dropping again at the Marsac mill Tuesday afternoon and everything is in firstclass hape The repairs made while the mill was closed down were quite extensive Patrick Peters has been advanced to the position of foreman of the Lucky Bill mine the appointment being made this week Pat is a practical miner of large e experience and will Undoubtedly un-doubtedly give entire satisfaction The boys leasing at the Crescent J have finished sending down their first shipment of ore comprising some 350 tons They are now jigging their second sec-ond class ore and will make another shipment in about six weeks Since the Bogan company completed the deal whereby it secured cash to pay its obligations and with which to prosecute work its stock has taken a decided upward tendency and the writer is informed that 75 cents per share was refused last week for a block of 50000 shares Not only that b but individual holders of the stock will not part with i especially the 1 boys who are employed in the shaft and have taken stock for pay The ground looks very favorable and the impression that ore will be found inside in-side of 900 feet is a firm fixture among the men and they are consequently holding on to what they have The Record stated in May that sinking would begin in the Daly No 2 shaft in June and three shifts are now sending that shaft down at a lively rate I is the intention to sink the shaft deep enough to allow a crosscut to tap the old Daly shaft at the 1200 I level when a raise will be made to connect with that shaft Owing to the large volume of water in ile Old Daly I the method being followed is the only means of sinking that shaft without putting in extra machinery to handle ri water The two drifts being run from Ontario No 3 to connect with the Daly are progressing rapidly in spite of the large volume of water in the vein The drain tunnel is also making rapid progress and is fast nearing the point where It will be tapped by No 3 shaft Following are the ore shipments from the Mackintosh sampler for the present pres-ent week Silver King 790300 Silver King concentrates 197190 Anchor concentrates 542220 Daly West concentiates 237500 Total pounds 1767210 |
