Show t NEWS FROM NEARBY CITIES AND TOWRS I I THE JIERCLLES POWER 1LAXT IX I LOGAN CI VOX I tieh is Exi > c ctcii oC the Company I and it Will lie a Ills Factor lu thc Progrcjn of thc Queen of Cache I I I Logan June 13In company with Mr Hale of the Denver Electric company com-pany Lieutenant Styer of the Agricultural Agri-cultural college and the members of the Hercules Power cornpanv a her aid representative recent visited thtir mammoth plant in Logan I canyon and looked over the eten sive preparations for furnishing electric elec-tric power which have tlure been made The canal is situated a little I iss than four miles from Logans Main street and is in the neighborhood neighbor-hood of 500 feet in length They have built a dam across Logan river in such a manner as to make it possible to utilize the entire stream and at the penstock there is a fall of thirty six feet capable of furnishing 1000 horse power The entire plant is built on a massive scale and has cost 6000 I is the Intention of the company to put in turbine wheels and electrical machinery forthwith when they will be prepared to furnish light bOat and power to the inhabitants of Logan and the surrounding cities and owns at very low rates There I is also great hope that some factories may be secured for Logan in view of nlJ cheapness with which power can be furnished The Hercules company is composed of Messrs L C Farr Edward Holden Edward Ha len John Davidson and TV C Cates and is incorporated for the sum of 100000 These gentlemen have shown great enterprise in launching out on so extensive a scale and deserve to be heartily supported sup-ported by all lovers of progress Announcement An-nouncement is made In their behalf that a street railway and similar institutions in-stitutions are probabilities of the not < ttfns probabites far distant future I |
