the report submitted II sub-mitted by him in which he charged gross extravagance at the hands of I the management of the company and especially at those of Superintendent Robinson A meeting of the board was held yesterday afternoon and without much delay resolutions expressive ex-pressive of confidence in the management manage-ment and Superintendent Robinson and condemnation of the report of Samuel McIntyre were adopted In his protest against the manner in which the affairs of the company are being conducted Mr Iclnt recharged re-charged that some 535000 had been i either diverted into improper channels chan-nels or paid in excess of the highest market price for machinery and labor la-bor and demanded that suit be commenced com-menced against certain directors and i the superintendent for the recovery of the amount stated He also made the demand that Directors Trent Hills and McIntyre retire from the board on the ground that they have business relations with the company which are not proper in view of their official positions It is understood that he was aiming more directly at I Mr Trent whose firm has furnished machinery and supplies to the Mammoth Mam-moth company The meeting was held yesterday afternoon af-ternoon commencing at 3 oclock a full board being present Without an excess of preliminaries Mr Bradley offered a set of resolutions which setout set-out that the board had carefully examined ex-amined all of the reports submitted by the committee named by the stockholders stock-holders at the annual meeting Messrs Samuel McIntyre and Cunningham Cun-ningham the expert accountants and Superintendent Robinson and had found therein no evidence of mismanagement mis-management extravagance or dishonesty dis-honesty on the part of any member of the directory or employee of the I company that the work of Superintendent Superin-tendent Robinson had been perfectly V satisfactory and the board had every confidence in both his ability and honesty that instead of excess payments pay-ments and extravagance the board had found that the affairs of the company II com-pany had been properly and economically econom-ically administered with nothing dishonest dis-honest or inimical to the best interests inter-ests of the company attaohing to the V administration of the present management man-agement or superintendent The resolutions reso-lutions were particularly eulogistic of the weak of Mr Robinson and the utmost confidence of the board in him I was expressed They were adopted without a dissenting vote Then in V accordance with the request of Mr McIntyre one by one William Me < Intyre L C Trent L S Hills and W 1 Bradley tendered their resignations i resig-nations as members of the board of directors and as fast as presented i the withdrawals were rejected by the I board In presenting his resignation Mr Bradley stated that he did so for tled the 11 reason that his firm was selling1 I law to the company and this might i be objectionable with himself on the I board Judge Bradley again went to the bat and offered 0 resolution providing provid-ing that Samuel Mclntyres demand I for the bringing of suits against the members of the board and Mr Robinson Rob-inson for the sum of 35000 be commenced com-menced in the district court at once This resolution died nborning for the board tabled it almost as soon as it reached the hands of the secretary I Then the board adjourned subject to the call of the president Samuel McIntyre was present during dur-ing the meeting but had nothing to I offer T is stated that he expects to take his innings in the near future although in just what manner is not known outside of the inner circle He is the owner of onefourth of the stock of the Mammoth company and yet was dele representation on the board of directors by the other stockholders stock-holders For months past he has been endeorlns to correct what he denounces de-nounces as dishonest practices but what the beard of directors says are perfect legitimate and in direct line with the best interests of the company com-pany 11 McIntyres grievances are classed as among the purely imaginary imagin-ary by the directors On the first day of April the contract con-tract of Superintendent Robinson expired ex-pired and in the event of no extei sion being effected his connection with the company ceases but a com i mittee has already been appointed by I I the board of directors to make terms I with Mr Robinson nd secure his I services to the company for a longer j term I is extremely likely that the I new contract will be drawn up and j signed within the next few days I Reports from the Mammoth are to I I I the effect that the mine is in splendid shape The monthly shipment of concentrates I con-centrates is just taking place There are some eight oarloads of the mill I I product to be moved to the smelters |
