Show BAD 31R WIT One of His Victims Tells of the In suits Offered Topeka Kan May 10A special to the Capital froni Atchison says During Dur-ing the trial of James Nutt today Mrs Jesse Payton one of his victims testified that when Nutt appeared at her home on the night of February 4 he was somewhat under the influence of liquor and Wen Leonard Coleman Cole-man his other victim had left the room to put up his horses made an insulting suggestion to her She indignantly in-dignantly refused and Nutt finally offered her money if she would promise prom-ise not to say anything about the insult in-sult She did not promise and said she would tell het husband who was not at home at the time After Coleman Cole-man had put up the horses he came Into the room and Nutt after asking ask-ing him several impertinent questions ques-tions suddenly drew a revolver and commenced firing Three bullets struck Coleman and two struck Mrs Payton worn Nutt looks palo and care |
