Show I JACKSOXS VIEWS He His Xot Yet Defined Them on the Income Tax Washington May lOThe supreme court I premises are as completely deserted by II the members of the court and the public as though the income tax had never come up to receive the attention of the court and attract visitors I had been supposed I sup-posed that the court would go into immediate imme-diate consultation after the conclusion of I the argument in tho case but I there has been any consultation up to date it has not been held in the conference room at I the Capitol Justice Jacksons position while a matter mat-ter of much speculative interest at this time is apparently known to no one hut himself unless he has found occasion within the past day or two to acquaint his fellow members of tho court with his views There Is little doubt entertained but that the courts decision will be announced an-nounced next Monday week and there can be no question of the general expectation in Washington that it will be antagonistic I 1 antagonis-tic to the law as a whole though for this opinion nothing in the nature ot a definite I fact as to the standing of members ot the I decision of the tribunal is advanced |
