| Show EMMET AT THE THEATRE Fritz in a 3lacl House Makes a Decided Hit The first claim that Joseph K Emmett Em-mett has to public attention is that he is the son of Joseph K Emmett That has probably done more to pave his way to popular appreciation thanfany thing that he has done in the early part of his career Still he has definite de-finite ambitions of his own and does not propose to reap aloue the fruits of his fathers genius Yet there is a melodious ring in the very name of Joe Emmett that is a charm in itself and had something to do wkh the good attendance that was at the theatre last night Nothing of a classical na ture could be expected from a 91 ece with such a name as Fritz in a Mad I House but there was more In the I I plot and characterization of the piece than was anticipated It made a decided I de-cided hit with the audence and met with the rare experience of a curtain II call to which there was no response I at the end of the first act The principal I princi-pal parts were enacted by I > Ir Emmett I as Fritz and into the role he found opportunity for singing some of the I songs his father sung but they vere only an echo and a reminiscence of the flowing sweetness that are remembered I of the years gone by Young ilr Emmett I Em-mett is a good actor all the same and in other directions bids fair to make an individual reputation for himself him-self He Is probably the most grace ful man that ever danced on the stage und that feature alone will long live in the memories of all who saw him The principal support was in j the hands of Miss Emily Lytton who acquitted ac-quitted herself well and little Baby Sinnot who is an infant phenomenon of great ability and sweetness The next attraction is Nellie Mc henry in teA Night in the Circus for which the box sale is now open I |
