Show WARREN AND CLARK Election Ratified and They Arc Formally For-mally Notified Special to The Herald Cheyenne Wy Jan 23Ihc Wyoming Wyo-ming legislature in joint feession at noon today formally ratified the election elec-tion in separate houses yesterday of United States senators and the successful suc-cessful candidates FrancIs E Warren and Clarence D Clark were formally notified of their election In his pcech of acceptance Senator Warren raid in reference to the financial question The recent campaign was made and won upon a platform unanimously adopted at our state Republican con vention I declared for the free and unlimited coinage of silver at a ratio of 16 to 1 Our platform was as strong as possible upon all points especially silver and I propose in the fulfillment of public duties to ibe as strong as the platform in sentiment l speech and in act believing this tO be your desire and command Senator Clark said on1 the silver question I am in full accord with the declarations declara-tions of the Republican state platform on the silver issues We silver men are not fiatists We are not the friends of a depreciated currency Our policy is to furnish an adequate amount of currency to do the business of the country easily We want a money that shall be free flowing and shall be of the nation and of its1 < people Senator Clark being elected to fill a vacancy will take his seat In the Senate Sen-ate immediately |
