FAVORS THE RD MAN Another Side to Charge of Indians Slaughtering Game Special Correspondence Cheyenne Wyo Aug 22Captain H G Nickersoo Indian agent at the Wind River agency Wyemlng who is in the city In charge of the Indians who will participate in the Frontier day celebration celebra-tion in an interview states that there are two sides to the matter of Indians slaughtering game unlawfully A few days ago a Shoshone Indian was an rested by Game Warden Wells of Uiota county who stated that the Indian was slaughtering game unlawfully Captain Nickerson says that he personally investigated in-vestigated the matter and found that the Indian in question accompanied by his family was making a journey to the Fort Hall reservation to visit some friends They had permits While en route the Indians ran short of food and to prevent starving the buck shot an antelope The game warden happened hap-pened to be near at the time and swooped down upon the poor red man anti carried hint off to sail leaving his family to shift for themselves After many privations and being compelled to go without food for several days the woman and children found their way back to the reservation The probabilities are that the Indian will be released at once and will not be prosecuted There are a number of white men in the Jacksons hole region who make their living by guiding parties par-ties of eastern hunters through the country and it is these fellows it is alleged that usually make the complaints com-plaints against tile Indians
