Mercurs Welcome to B3ys Special Correspcndenc Mercur Aug 22The reception to the volunteers Monday was an occasion long to be remembered in the camp At 101 a m the train In two sections came insight in-sight and every mine and locotaotive waistie in the camp gave warning and a few minutes later the train pulled in On both sides of the track the people were lined up and along the line or mmrch the sidenesiks were crowded Marshal Hall and his aides formed the line and the procession moved out in the following order Golden Gate band unteers veterans of other wars fire do partmezt Goddess of Liberty l2tah fifty little girls D of H A 0 1 IV Italian society and last 2t00 miners from the various mines clad in their digging clothes and Itd by the mine suierintemd enma Under the triumhnl arch which had beets erected at the upper coil of town Mayor Wilde made a speech of welcome which was responded to by one of the battery boys J 3 Ryan alter which the little girls sand Home Again In the evening a grand banquet was given the guests being the volunteers veterans etc The tables were waited on by twenty little girls dressed in white with tmIcolored sashes and caps The dance ball was crowded to sumfocatlon and a snug sum as realized both from subscriptions and for the price of tickets The money wilt be given to the voiun teens and will be added to the amount obtained some time ago which first amounted to 126 for each one
