| Show ACCIDENT AT THE DEXTER Lightning Destroys th a for rs and Hill Closes Dow Tuscarr TmesReview During the prealeceof the electric storm about noon Friday last a bolt ot lightning struck the electric wires at the Dexter mill and burned out the trantorer destroying them completely com-pletely and necessitating the closing down ot the mine and mill for a few das at least Workmen at the mill at first thought the mill was on fire so fierce was the electric display the flashes from the burning transformers reaching the upper floor of the mill One excitable and Inexperienced man threw a bucket of water down from above and was instnty floored by the shock An account of the accident was immediately Imme-diately forivrded to the companys I forwared Salt Lake and I Is thou ht here that the director will or del the transformers brought In from the plant at Chagnons in order that the ml may be kept running I this course Is followed It will be necesao to shut down the air compressor as a similar accident at the Jack Creek plant about a month ago made the company short of transformers Owing to the heavy demand for supple ot this description the factories arc unable un-able to supply the demand and it will tale at least three months before the transformer could be manufactured ant arrive from the east In the meantime all work at the mine and ml has been susinded except at the new shaft and cyanide plant The pumps will be kept going by steam The accident Is much to bo derlored as everything was running smoothly and a splendId output was promised for this month which this unlooked for and unfortunate delay will materlaly decrease de-crease Superintendent McKenzie informs In-forms us that it will take at least three das to male the change from the Chagnon plant J the directors conclude to take that course |
