| Show KAYSVILLE CUES All Sorts of Things Presented In a Newsy Way The thermometer registered several degrees de-grees below the freezing point this morning morn-ing ngDavid David Clark had his arm fractured by being kicked by a horse on Tuesday last He is improving A local weather prophet is predicting several months of fine weather yet before winter actually begins The household of Lorenzo Barnes was entered en-tered last Sunday morning by the arrival of a fine daughter The storm of Wednesday night was the heaviest seen here at this season sea-son of the year for a great length of time Snow fell to a depth of from two to three inches and a great amount of damage was done Fruit trees were broken down and stripped of their branches and in places orchards were almost ruined The sidewalks were rendered almost impassable impassa-ble by the broken branches from the shade trees THE HERALD correspondent was informed on good authority last evening that at a certain well known place in Kaysville gambling is b ing carried on quite extensively exten-sively and that largo sums of money are being won and lost by habitues of the place Our city officers should inquire into the matter and if there is any foundation for the report steps should bo at once taken to stop the evil About ten oclock last Tuesday evening Will Galley surprised a fellow in the act of burglarizing Blamires d Sheffields meat market He endeavored to capture tbe thief but failed as the dark night enabed the fellow to make good his escape This is not the first time the shops in that vicinity vicin-ity have been visited by persons on the same errand all of which goes to show that our city is not entirely free from the potty thieves with which the larger cities of the territory are infested After nearly two months of nothing being done the political atmosphere was stirred into activity again last evening when a primary meeting was hold in the music hall for the purpose of electing eight delegates io attend a county convention to be held at Farmington at 11 am today The following follow-ing persons were eleoted George W Barnes Hyrum Stewart C E Layton Walter JH Barton Samuel Rushforth O C Bennett George Swan jr and John W Galley The convention at Farmington today to-day is for the purpose of decline six delegates dele-gates and alternates to represent Davis connty in the territorial convention which meets at Salt Lake on October 10 KTTSVILLE October 3 1891 M |
