THE COUNTY SCHOOLS I A Manual of Weler County is Published TIlE TRANSFERS OF REALTY Preparinz for the Blur Democratic Guns Cadets Anxious to Drill at the Exposition Superintendent Joseph S Peery has just Issued a manual ot the public schools of Weber county whichcontains much valu ablein formation relating to the work being be-ing done in tho schools throughout the county In his annual report it is found there are in tho county o5S7 pupils that can read and write 47TG attending district schools S71 attending private schools and 1029 child rea that attend no schools Children ot non Mormon parents boys 1133 girls 1139 Children of Mormon parents boys 2209 girls 213L Grand total 0077 For the year of ISm there has been an increase in the county of 2GG nonMormon parents and 332 Mormon parents Superintendent Peery is undergoing a general reformation in the schools of the county which has been his constant object sitce his election to the position he now bolds Every district in the county shows a material improvement over last year t Democracys Day One of the grandest events in the political politi-cal history of Utah will be held in I the Grand opera house next Thursday evening Some of the ablest speakers that the nation possesses today will be here on that occasion and no pains will be spared on the partof the Weber county Democrats to make this a memorable occasion The 1 distinguished guests will arrive in the J auction city in the morning from San Francisco and the party will be composed of Hon Chauncey F Black president and Hon Lawrence Gardiner secretary of the National Association of Democratic clubs Also Hon Charles J Faulkner United States senator from West Virginia Hon William D Bynum member of Congress from Indiana and Hon James M Beck of Pennsylvania Every Democrat in Ogden and Weber county should turn out and hear these eminent speakers from abroad Jt will be a grand Democratic feast and no one should miss it
