exhibition will be conspicuous by I its absence and in place of it the proper and actual fair weather will transpire THE PROGRAMME The programme of the daily occurences at the fair will be as follows FIRST DAY MOSDAT OCTOBER 5 Grand tournament of bands to form at the head of Main street at 1030 a m and march down Main playing McQuaides quick march entitled Nophi arriving at the Exposition building at 12 m when the fair will be formally opened by the following follow-ing ceremonies Music Prayer Address by the governor Declaration of opening of the nineteenth exhibition of the Deseret Agricultural and Manufacturing Society by President H W Lawrence Music GRAND BAND CONTEST Beginning at 1 p m the various contests by the bands of the territory will take C place occupying the time during the remainder re-mainder of the afternr and evening SECOND DAY TUESDAY OCTOBER G Grand double wedding at 2 p m on thc grand stand in the main hall two marriage ceremonies wil be solemnized and two pairs of hearts united in the holy bonds of wedlock The band will play Lobengrins wedding march and the double bridal party with bridesmaids and officiates will march to the dininghall and partake the daring professor profes-sor will ascend to It hand over hand then making fast to his trapeze will give the word for the balloon almost unmanageable monster of the air to cut loose and whirling TUURSDAT OCTOBER 8 I Ogden Day Repetition at 2 p m of great aerial exhibition by Professor Stale I I At 7 p m begins the exciting and difficult j diffi-cult task of awarding a premium to the prettiest girl at the fair which will occupy the evening FIFTH DAT FRIDAY OCTOBER 9 Great laby show at 2 p m At 4 p m drilling contests to be followed by run ning matches Promenade concert in the evening THE MEETING The board of directors had a brief meeting meet-ing last night at the Exposition building There were present the following named Lawrence Mason McDaniel Empey Peters Height Simon Parker Wells The judges in the band contest were appointed ap-pointed They are all capable musicians and gentlemen of great integrity On motion the secretary was instructed to interview Marshal Young to request him to furnish a squad of policemen to take the lead in the grand march of bands to the fair The bands will meet at 1130 a mon m-on Monday at the corner of Main and South Temple streets CLASS H By
