AMUSEMENTS SUSETTE Thero was a large audience at the theatre thea-tre last evening to see the bright and merry if somewhat trivialopera of Suaotte Jessie Bartlett Davis Stone and Hoff were in the cast and did their utmost to make it pleasing Stone particularly being good in the title role and Hoff and Davis working conscientiously in parts that were somewhat some-what colorless The encores and plaudits were numerous but it was evident tha the opera was along way short of Robin Hood Tho matinee of that opera was well at tended considering that it was given on awe a-we k day but there was much disappoint ment and some surprise over tho substitution substitu-tion of understudies for Hoff Davis Stone and McDonaldthough it must be confessed con-fessed Cordons appearance as Marion was not an occasion for regret Miss Reals sang the part of Annabel as before with much sweetness It was duo the public we think that some notice of those changes should have been made before raking in their dollars Tonight the season closes with the brilliant Fatinitza in which Davis Hoff and Barnabee all have excellent excel-lent roles
