HOW HE GDI VtN 0 Mrs Browns Vanishing Ta Trick DIll covered Mr W a well known solicitor in his bachelor days went to lodge with a person per-son whom we will call Mrs Brown As an inducement to take the rooms he was told that he could have a lock up cupboard cup-board to keep his food in where would be safe from the depredations of the cat However Mr W soon discovered that his favorite pekoe disappeared with alarming rapidity Having no particular particu-lar reason for suspecting the domestic Tabby he came to the conclusion that Mrs Brownmust like himself possess a liking for that fragrant bohea To make assurance doubly sure he purchased two pounds of tea next time instead of one and putting one pound as usual in the tea caddy in the cupboard which he determined not to touch at all himself gave out his daily supply sup-ply from the other pound which he kept concealed from Mrs Brown But alas the pound in the caddy kept getting small and beautifully less until it was all gone Then came Mr Ws inningsIifBinging for Mrs Brown ha handed her Ins usual supply of tea in cupjand producing I ci thoempty cnddy from the cupboard ne jocularly remarked I see youve finished yourpound of tea before I have mine Mrs Brown The poor womans face when it dawned upon her that her vanishing tea j j trick had been discovered was a study London I I
