In the Coeur dAlcnes The Coeur dAlene Jffner predicts that this will be a season of unequaled prosperity pros-perity for the Coeur dAlenes We hope the prediction will bo verified as all Idaho would share to a greater or less degree in the prosperity of that or any other section of the state Wood Rivershould be prosperous pros-perous also more so we think than any portion of the state but with us the outlook out-look is not so encouraging Our mines are silver mines A government of the people by the people and for the people has denied de-nied us free coinage The price of silver is down 33 per cent below its real value Freight is 50 per cent above its value Under such conditions it is not probable that our smelters will start up or that the capital needed in developing our mines and pushing our mining industry will be forthcoming forth-coming Had we gold with our silver as Coeur dAlene has the propects for an immediate im-mediate boom on Wood River would be excellent ex-cellent The mineral wealth of the locality is positively enormous but our silver and lead not being in favor with the government govern-ment must remain locked up in their native na-tive ores until conditions more favorable to our prosperity and the prosperity of the laboring classes generally are established Keystone
