Show RICH MIXES IN THE SOUTH Prospectors at Leamington Uncover Very Rich OreOld lines LEAMINGTOK May Correspondence of THE HERJLDAs As there is quite an excitement ex-citement in mining in many parts of the country this spring a few words from our district would perhaps be interesting to your many readers For the last month Mr Otto Walters mining expert and engineer engi-neer widely known for tho last sixteen years in Colorado New Mexico and Arizona has been engaged by the most influential in-fluential capitalists and Union Pacific officials offi-cials of your city to prospect from here to Oak Creek and south to Frisco He mostly gave his attention to the old Spanish mines which are numerous between Fool creek and Oak creek The people here have prospected pros-pected the lead and silver veins for the last four years but never gave any attention to these old works Mr Walters had assays from three different places running high in gold He has also inspected a number of our mines and I think it will be the means of bringing moneyed men in here Weave h We-ave plenty of ore in sight Much work has been done in the camp but no prospecting by skilled men such as Mr Walters He finds ore every place that we have traveled over for years This little town will gel a move on itself before long We have the finest location for smelters west of the Missouri river plenty of water plenty of land plenty of ore and only fiftyfive miles from Dugway and a level open country every foot of the way Tapping Drum district and many valuable claims the Union Pacific railroad company holds the keys of Deep Creek Dugway eastern and southern Nevada also Utah south of here No other railway company can ever get the advantage for handling the ore from so many and rich mining camps The Union Pacific railroad company cannot hardly find cars enough to handle the ore from the south now Whenever When-ever they build to Dugway and Fish Springs which they undoubtedly will and soon it will take all the cars the system owns to move the ore to smelters I have lived on this desert for thirty years and with railroads it will in a few years be the poor mans country for both farmers and miners There will be some mining sales made soon in Leamington district we have many valuable prospects from GO to 75 percent per-cent lead and from 7 to 30 ounces silver of which I will write you later FARMEU ASD MINER |
