Show A HEROIC DEATH The Brave and Gallant Young Louis Allen He Sacrifices His Own Life to Save 1 Brother and Sister From a Watery Grave The village of Draper eighteen miles south of Salt Lake was the scene Sunday of a terrible struggle for life on tho part of several young people and of the heroic death of ono of their number in his attempts at-tempts to save his young brother and sister sis-ter There is a large pond in Draper from twelve to fifteen feet deep and on Sunday while playing on its banks a little boy and girl children of Bishop Allen fell into the water one first slipping in and the other jumping after it or being pulled in in attempting at-tempting to save it The screams of the children drew their brother to tho spota boy of fourteen named Louis Allen who at once jumped into the pond to their rescue res-cue Ho succeeded in getting the little boy to the shore and returned t aid the girl she in her fright clasped tho brave fellow around the neck and both went down In bot the meantime however her screams had attracted a young man who was passing band b-and jumping in be was just in time to save her the boy Louis however had gone to the bottom and though ho was soon brought to tho surface and every means possible taken to resuscitate him the vital spark had fled The death of tho brave boy has cast a gloom on the whole village and his parents have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement |
