A Cherokee Strip Romance I I I Yesterday Joseph K Bracken of Memphis and Miss Lillie McGlashin I of Stillwater O T came to this city and were married by the probate I I judge The young lady had secured a fine claim near Perry in the Cherokee j strip and the judge told her that i she got married she would probably lose the claim She laughingly replied re-plied that she would sooner have a man than a claim any day and the I ceremony proceeded It afterward came out that the couple first met on the day of the of the strip opening when he stopped to help her drive a couple of sooners off the claim she had staked He then went on but because of the delay failed to get a claim and finally returned to claim the girl he left behind him After they had been married they returned to Perry and the happy groom at once filed a contest con-test on the claim taken by his bride so if the department does decide that she cannot hold it he will get it and 1 Letter it will still be in the family Guthrie I I
