Show THE ATHLETIC CLUB Every Benson to Baliovo That I Will Be a success An enthusiastic meeting of the Salt Lake Athletic clubwas held last night in the hall over Caldors music store for the purpose pur-pose of effecting a permanent organization Mr H R Browne chairman of the temporary I tem-porary organization was in the chair The secretary gave 1 short outline of the work already done by the temporary committee stating that out of 400 to whom invitations to join had nesn sent about 125 bad replied In the affirmative about 100 in the negative neg-ative and the remainder had sent in no replies Mr Polloclr of the subcommittee on bulldin and site reported that a proposition proposi-tion bad been received from the owner ol apiece a-piece of property convenient to the center of the town to build a 510000 club house covering 125 by 50 feetof ground and lease the same to the club at 150 per month In order that tbe > club should be in 1 position to accept this proposition and carryon its proposed plan it will DO necessary that 200 members be secured After considerable discussion Mr Shearman moved that a committee of five including the chair bo appointed 10 draft 0 plan of permanent organization and report to the club at a meeting be called a week from next Monday night The motion prevailing the chair appointed Messrs Nye Sprague Mann and Bailey Mr Polloelf then moved that a committee commit-tee of live be appointed as a nominating committee to suggest names of permanent officers to oe voted upon at tho next meet inC This committee will be appointed In the next few days After some further remarks by various persons present the meeting then adjourned ad-journed until a week from tomorrow evening even-ing at the same place each member present pres-ent agreeing to constitute a committee of one to canvass for new members All those present seemed thoroughly in earnest and anxious to promote In every way the success of tho enterprise and It is now certain tnt the tall Lane Athletic club which baa been for so long B time in the minds of many a mere chimera is destined to become in the near future an established estab-lished fact All those who havu hitherto neglected to reply to their invitation to join should make baste to send in their names to tho treasurer Mr George F Downey before next Monday week |
