Show The Political Meeting at Draper The Draper people did not fail to show enthusiasm and turned out en masse eager to hear and be heard The town had been thoroughly aroused by the brass band and the liberal use of gunpowder long before the hour of meeting The meetng assembly Was called to order by James Jensen C G Rideout B Stewart secretary was called t the chair D An eloquent prayer was offered by the Rev George Terry after which the chair introduced Samuel Howard and James Oliver the appointed speakers Jame evening who ably addressed the assembly amid applause Cihe nome talent and young bloods of Draper D O Rideout Utahs old prospector Henry Day the pioneer C B Stewart D O Hideout jr George Terry J B Jensen and W C Allen ad dressed the assembly in an enthusiastic and patriotic manner The meeting ended amid great applause the band rendering the inspiring national air The StarSpangled Banner Three cheers for our delegate John T Caine a rouser for Young Utah and rats for Goodwin were given |
