Show I THE JOIHT BUILDING The County Court Favors the Eighth Ward Square SELECTMAN MILLER THE OfcLY NOw There Is However a Grave Question a to Whether or Not the Title Can be Made Good In the county court yesterday the committee com-mittee on joint city and county building re ported recommending that the county court consider the advisability pf erecting the joint city and county building on the Eighth ward square and in the center thereof The report was received and ttie recommendations adopted provided that satisfactory arrangements can be made with the city for the change in site and that the matter of title of the new site be referred to the county attorney Selectman Miller was the only no SHEEP AND TiE BOULEVARD The petition of Waldo Potter and others protesting against the driving of sheep along the south boulevard was reported on by the attorney who said the county had no right to prevent the use of the road for such purpose unless it be declared a i limited highway This of course can not or will not be done because in such a event the county would be compelled to furnish drovers some other route through the county and this was almost an utter mpossiblllty AN ORDER TO TIE SHERIFF The clerk was authorized to issue an order to the sheriff to have Kirstl Johnson buried at the expense of the county A NEW JUDGE Gustave IKroeger was appointed justice of the peace for the First precinct vice J W Neff who had failed to qualify SENT TO DENVER The sheriff was ordered to buy a ticket to Denver for Patrick Finnell and furnish him 15 in cash TiE COUNTY ROAD The petition of Henry L Bowden et 81 for extension of the county road was re ferred to Messrs Howe and Cahoon J CLAIM REFERRED The claim of Edward Morgan was re ferred to Howe and Miller THE COUNTY PRINTING E J Smith was awarded the county printing he being the lowest bidder THE TERRITORIAL ROAD The committee on the extension of the territorial road running west from the White bridge reported that an angle should be made in the road to avoid the building buiding of Mr Goss The report was accepted MERCHANTS LICENSES The cleric reported the receipt of 23750 for merchants licenses which he had paid over to the county treasurer and taken his receipt therefor h TIE UTAH CENTRAL The county attorney recommended that the resolution presented to the county court by the Utah Central railway fora franchisee b franchise-e referred back to the attorneys of said company with a request that an accurate description of the right of way desired beset be-set out and that the county shall give only what they own READ AND FILED The coroners reports for February were received and flied |
