Show DUP reviews story of Butch Cassidy j Robert LeRoy Parker, later known as "Butch Cassidy," acquired his popular name in an interesting way. He was born in Beaver, Utah in 1867. Early in his life he moved with his father to a ranch which had been headquarters for a gang of horse thieves and rustlers, one of whom was named Mike Cassidy. Most of the gang finally moved on, but Mike stayed to work for the Parkers. It was from him that young Parker got half of his famous name. The "Butch" part came as a result of his working for a while as a butcher in Wyoming. Those who really knew Butch Cassidy said he was a nice person to know, always generous ana loyai. This information is a small portion of the interesting February lesson given at a recent meeting of the Pleasant Grove Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Captain Afton Atkinson presided and Joan Beckstrand, a vice captain, cap-tain, conducted the business and Refreshments were served t' present.
