Show Ceremony At Bride's Home Unites Miss Ella Empey And Cecil Ocker, Sept. 8th United in marriage Friday evening, eve-ning, Sept. 8, were Miss Ella Empey, daughter of Mrs. Joseph Empey and Cecil Ocker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Ocker of Kansas City, Kansas. Bishop Andrew An-drew McArthur of the St. George South ward performed the ceremony cere-mony at the home of the bride's mother with immediate relatives and a few close friends attending. Standing with the couple for the ceremony were the bride's cousin, Miss Betsy Empey of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Clair Riding of Burbank, California. LaVell Cottam, brother-in-law of the of the groom, was best man. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Empey of Salt Lake City were also here to witness wit-ness the ceremony. The bride is a graduate of Woodward high school. For the past year the groom has made his home here with his sister, Mrs. LaVell Cottam, and is employed em-ployed by Premium Oil Co. Last Thursday evening the bride was honored with a personal shower with, her girl friends entertaining. enter-taining. The hostesses included Tana Seegmiller, Aileen Cannon Rennee Lund and Dorothy Blake. The affair was held at the home of Mrs. Karl Hutchings. On Tuesday evening Mrs. J. W. McAllister, Mrs. Clark Empey and Mrs. Lyle Mitchell united as hostesses at the Mitchell home in giving the couple a bundle shower. A large group of relatives and friends attended. For the present the couple will make their home in St. George. |
