Show Mrs. T. D. Hebdon returned Monday from visiting with her husband in San Bernardino for several days. Christine and Jeff Brooks, children child-ren of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Brooks of Orem, spent last week here visiting at the home of their grandmother, Mrs. Flora Brooks. They came down with their aunts, Mrs. Byron H. Taylor and Miss Flora Brooks. Their. daughter, Miss Edna Mae Miller arrived last Friday to register at Dixie junior college. Ot. M. M. 'IT 'If Max Westover returned Monday to Provo to attend school after spending the summer here with his father, Ralph Westover. Among the souvenirs he took home with him were the Purple -Heart and other ribbons and medals won by his father during World War One. -X' Mrs. Elmer Sandberg of Washington Wash-ington and Mrs. Is Pace of 1 St. George united Saturday evening in entertaining at the Pace home for their brother-in-law, John T. Neilson, who leaves this week for the eastern states L. D. S. mission. Games and a short program were followed by refreshments. Mrs. William B. Hansen and baby girl, Carol Lee, left Monday for Salt Lake City and Ogden, where they will visit relatives for a month. Margaret Bryner and sons, Keith and Paul, arrived last week from Salt Lake City, Mrs. Bryner to teach school and the two boys to attend school. Her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Tom Bryner came from Henderson, Nev., and will make her home with them for the winter. OA. l M. B. Orton of Springville, spent Saturday night and Sunday in St. George as guests of Mrs. Ortorfs parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Cottam. Their sister, Ellen Raye Cottam, who has been visiting with them for a month returned with them. They were also joined at Parowan by Dr. Orton's mother, Mrs. M. L. Orton, who visited with her daughter, and son-in-law, Attorney At-torney and Mrs. LeRoy H. Cox. Miss Ida Foremaster arrived last Thursday from Los Angeles to attend the Lions Ttodeo -entertainment and visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lindau Foremaster. She is employed by the telephone exchange in Los Angeles. Her brother, LaVar, who has been visiting in California Cali-fornia for the past month, returned re-turned with her to attend school j' Mrs. William E. Thompson left Tuesday for Madison, Wis., where she will spend several weeks with her husband, who is in training at that location. During her absence ab-sence their two children are staying with their grandmother, Mrs. Hyrum Thompson. Dr. and Mrs. Paul S. Arnold and sons came last Friday from California to visit Mrs. Arnold's mother, Mrs. H. M. Odenwalder. Mrs. Charles Mellor of Las Vegas, who has been spending the past eight months in Beaver, was a guest over Friday and Saturday at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. A. J. Hutchings. a w Dr. and Mrs. LeRoy H. Hafen of Denver, who have spent the summer in California, where Dr. Hafen, who is historian of Colorado, Colo-rado, has been doing research work, were St. George visitors over last week end. Mrs. Margaret Bradford and son, Dixon, returned last Thursday Thurs-day evening from Vallejo, Calif, where they have spent the summer sum-mer months. Dixon has been employed em-ployed in submarine repair work. Mrs. William Brooks returned last Sunday night from Provo. where she was guest speaker on source material for pioneer records, rec-ords, before the Utah Countyi D. U. P. convention held in the Provo public library. More than 150 members attended. On Saturday Sat-urday evening Mrs. Lucille Walker entertained at her home in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove for Mrs. Brooks. |
