Show Making Home in Springville . . . i' Church Reception Honors Newlyweds Mr., Mrs. Bill Bird; Wed in Temple In the stately setting provided at the stake house, newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bird recieved a host of relatives and friends at their wedding reception Thursday evening of last week. They were married Monday in the Salt Lake Temple with President Presi-dent EIRay Christiansen performing perform-ing the ceremony in the presence of immediate family members and close friends. The bride, formerly Miss Marie Averett, was beautiful in a gown of traditional white satin designed design-ed with circular skirt and princess-style princess-style bodice of lace with pearl trim. Long lace gloves added a stylish note and her veil of bride's illusion was arranged to a lace crown trimmed with seed-pearls. Her bouquet consisted of two large white orchids surroun&sd with stephanotos from which fell white satin streamers. Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister, Mrs. Guy Bird of Mt. They were attired in identically styled formals in shades of green and coral, and carried bouquets of carnations car-nations centered with orchids. Others in the receiving line included in-cluded the parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew G. Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bird. Mm. Peterson chose a green silki-crepe formal for her daughters wedding while Mrs. Bird wore a coral colored col-ored formal. They each pinned a white orchid to their shoulder. Jack Parker did best man duties for his cousin. White and coral carnations and candelabra formed a pretty background for the bridal line. Receiving guests at the door were uncles and aunts of the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Haymond and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Brown. Mary Jane Horton and Colleen Childs were in charge of the guest book. Serving refreshments at small tables centered with rose bowls with floating carnations in coral and white, were Karen Peterson, Karen Haymond, LuAnn Harmer, Marilyn Thorpe, Carol Bird, Mar-va Mar-va Bird, Kathleen Wilson, Lois, Doris and Marian Parker of Helper, Help-er, and Sheila Averett. The gifts and trousseau rooms were presided over by girl friends of the bride, Joan Fullmer, Marilyn Mari-lyn Clegg, Clara Harmer, Janet Snelson, Maxine Davies and Marian Mar-ian Smoot. Tinty pixies made by " the groom's aunt, Mrs. Ruth Nielson of California were' arranged about the rooms adding an artistic touch. The three-tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature temple centered the serving table which also held a tiny bride and groom and silver-heart shaped candle holders with tall tapers designed also by Mr. and Mrs. Nielson of California. The table cover was hand-embroidered made in Japan. As the guest arrived, music was played by Mrs. Lewis Bird, Mrs. Hyrum Jones of Spanish Fork and Mrs. Maurice Bird, the latter being accompanist for the program numbers. num-bers. Harold Harmer, uncle of the bride, from Payson was master of ceremonies and announced vocal solos by Kay Weight; vocal solos, I Doyle Egen of Layton; a toast to the bride, Mrs. Theora Peterson; a toast to the groom, Bishop Bert Strong; a vocal duet, Mrs. Vera Zobell and Mrs. Melba Wheeler; piano solo, Miss Monta Ford. The couple are making their home in Springville at First North, Second East, the groom having resumed re-sumed his studies at the BYTJ and the bride her work at the bank. |
