Show I BELOVED COUPLE CELEBRATE GOLDEN WEDDING AT HOME OF DAUGHTER; MANY ATTEND Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Contlie celebrated cele-brated their golden wedding anniversary anni-versary Wednesday evening at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Dwight Packard in Provo. In the early evening a supper was served to a larr-"5 crowd of friends and relatives. Later a program pro-gram of musical numbers and readings were enjoyed. Mr. Condi e was born in Scotland, Scot-land, October 29, 1846l his wife, Esther Es-ther B. Condie, was born in Derby-1 Derby-1 shire, England, January 28, 1859. The couple were married in the Endowment house, Salt Lake, January Jan-uary 16, 1879. They have lived in Springville continuously for 50 years, and both have contributed much to the religious, civic and social activities of this community. Mr, Condie served as bishop of the Fourth ward for a number of years, and is also a high counsclman. Mrs. Condie has also taken an active part in the ward in which they lived, having acted as treasurer, treas-urer, as second counselor, and also as teacher in the Relief Society. Shortly after their marriage, Mr. Condie went to Scotland, where he labored as an L. D. S. missionary for fourteen months. They now have eight living children, chil-dren, and twenty-one grandchildren. grandchil-dren. The children are: Mrs. John Crandall, Mrs. G. R. Maycock, Ear Condie, Kenneth Condie, of Springville; Spring-ville; Mrs. Dwight Packard, of Provo; Mrs. Lillian Lewis, Overton, Nevada; Mrs. Melba Osmond, Washington, D. C, and Richard Condie, Paris, France. All of the children were present at the celebration cele-bration except the last thre'e named, nam-ed, and each of these sent messages mes-sages of remembrance and good wishes to their parents. |
