Show MRS. A, H. CHILD SERVICES HELD Impressive funeral services were held in the Third ward chapel Monday afternoon, for Mrs. Emma Jane Ostler Child, widow of Alma H. Child, who died at, her home Saturday, following six weeks' illness from a heart ailment. Bishop William Witney had the services in charge. The speakers who paid fine tributes to the life and character of Mrs. Child, were William Wlainwright, Peter Nielson and Mrs. Ella Reynolds. Music was rendered by Miss Bernice Nelson, who gave a vocal solo: Howard Mendenhall, of Richfield, a vocal solo; Mrs. Law- rence Clark, a vocal solo; Miss Vera Wheeler, a vocal solo, and Miss Phylis Smart a violin solo, accompanied by Miss Beth Mendenhall. Men-denhall. The invocation was offered by Bishop A. G. Peterson of the First ward, and the benediction was by A. B. Gore. A. G. Thorn dedicated dedi-cated the grave at the city cemetery. ceme-tery. Mrs. Child, well known and highly respected matron of this city, was born here, January 6, 1869, a daughter of Samuel and Emma Beard Ostler. She had lived in Springville most of her life. She was married to Mr. Child, January 1, 1887. He died in 1933. Surviving are five sons and daughters, Mrs. J. W. Whiting, who is in Europe; Ivan and Ar-ville Ar-ville Child, Springville; Henry Child, Spanish Fork, and Mrs. W. S. Packard of Twin Falls, Ida; 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren grand-children and one sister, Mrs. Abe Jenkins of Provo. |
