Show IG. 0. P. PIHMIES LARGELY ATTENDED Interest in Selection of Delegates Keener Than for Many Years. INSTRUCTIONS FEW Representatives Generally Will Use Their Discretion at Convention. At no time in the memory of the oldest inhabitant has there been keener j interest in local politics than was dis-I dis-I play last niht at the Salt Lake coun- ty Republican primaries. The bushes ' were lull of Republicans and they didn't wait to be shaken out; they came out in swarms and each taction battled valiantly to elect delegates to the county convention favorable to its particular' candidates. A record attendance was reported in practically all the districts and the interest in-terest was second enly to the recent state primaries. The numerous candidates candi-dates in the field for the various county coun-ty offices have been exceedingly busy during the past few days lining up their supporters, who turned out in great numbers last night. But, despite the keen interest, the most friendly feeling was reported in all quarters and the vanquished took, their ' ' medicine f 7 in good part. Most of the delegates will go to the county convention not instructed in-structed for "any particular candidates. can-didates. Jn only a comparatively few instances were the delegations delega-tions pledged to support any particular candidate or candidates, and most pledges were confined largely to the candidate or candidates from the respective re-spective home districts. Delegates Number 551. Five hundred and fifty-one delegates were named in the county to meet in Salt Lake September 14 to select the Republican county ticket. The delegates, dele-gates, in so far as reports could be obtained ob-tained last night, arc as follows: First Ward. THstrlct 1 R. J. Frolseth, C. E. Ray-bould, Ray-bould, P. N. Salmon. J. L.
