LE ROI JONES - ' Funeral services were held in the Lo6an First Ward Chaptl last Saturday at 2 p. m. for Dr. LeHoi Jonei, 40, bishop of the Logan First Ward, Cliurcn oi 1 Jesus Christ of .Latter -Day) Saints, and assistant professor 1 of speech at the Utah State Agricultural Ag-ricultural College, who died November No-vember 15 at a Logan hospital, following a one-day illness with an acute stomach ailment. A native of Tooele, where he was born May 1. 1911. the son of T. William and Viola Bur-rell Bur-rell Jones, he married Gwendolyn Gwen-dolyn Wiscombe,' of Ballard, in the Salt Lake" Temple August 15. 1938. He came to U "S A C in 1947 and then did graduate study in Iowa. He taught at Altamont and Roosevelt , High Schools. Other positions included instructor instruc-tor of speech and mathematics at American Fork High School and a teaching fellowship at B Y U. Dr. Jones was LoPan District Scout chairman in 1947-49 and was sustained as bishop of Logan First Ward September 30. 1951. He had served an L D S mission to the Northern States. Surviving are his widow, one daughter and one son, Marlene and Kent LeRoi Jones. Loan; ins mouier, Kirs. Viola B. Jones, Bacchus; a brother, Lt. William W. Jones, Camp Volk. Va. WILLIAM RALPH NIELSEN I . MYTON Funeral services were held in the Olpin Mortuary Mortu-ary Tuesday at 1 p. m. for William Wil-liam Ralph Nielsen, 4-year-old son of Jack E. and Virginia Mortensen Nielsen, who died at the family home in Myton Saturday, Sat-urday, Nov. 17, at 7 a. m., following fol-lowing a lingering illness. He was born July 12. 1947 in Roosevelt. Survivors include his parents, Myton; one sister and one brotn-er, brotn-er, Carol Ann and James E. Nielsen, both of Myton; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Mortensen, Myton, and Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Nielsen, Eph-raim. |
