Show DUP meeting Held At Home Of ftlrs. Edwards On Friday, November 16, at the home of Mattie Edwards, the Roosevelt Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers held its meeting meet-ing which had been postponed because of the death of Pearl Redmond, charter member. Ora Holgate, first vice-captain, conducted the meeting and paid a warm tribute to Mrs. Redmond and her activities in the organization. organ-ization. A bulletin from the Central Camp was read, reporting on the October convention in Salt Lake City and asking that all past presidents of counties and captains of camps be honored. It reported Vol. 12 of "Heart Throbs of the. West" completed and containing the names of pioneers pio-neers who came from Europe and the ships on which they came, and other information valuable val-uable in filling out membership papers of their descendants. Louisa Buchanan gave a brief sketch of the life of her grandfather, grand-father, Daniel Allen, a pionegr of 1849. The lesson, "The Utah Central and Other Railroads," was presented by Mrs. Edwards. Following the meeting the hostesses, Mrs. Edwards, Lur-rine Lur-rine Miles Allen and Alta Phillips, Phil-lips, served a lovely luncheon to the following members: Lyle Nickell, Alma Anderson, Louisa Buchanan, Helen Howell, Rosa-bell Rosa-bell Morrison, Mary Orser, Olive Harrison, Elon Taylor, Ora 'Holgate, 'Hol-gate, Romola Walker and Rose Gilbert. |
