Show Funeral Services For C. J. Cobbley Held Last Friday Relatives from far and near gathered Friday, May 21 at the Timpanogos Stake House to pay last tribute of respect to the memory mem-ory of one of Pleasant Grove's outstanding out-standing citizens, Charles J. Cobbley, Cob-bley, and express sympathy for his family. The very impressive service began be-gan at 2 p.m. with Grove Ward Bishop Karl N. Butler presiding. The invocation was offered by Jess R. Walker. Mrs. S. W. Hilton and Elwood Allen, accompanied by Mrs. Taylor Allen sang "Hold Thou My Hand." First speaker was Bishop Lynn Cullimore of Bountiful, a brother-in-law, who paid tribute to Mr. Cobbley as a husband, father, brother and friend, and expressed thoughts on birth, death and the resurrection as taught by the LDS Gospel. Denzil A. Brown, a co-worker with Mr. Cobbley for the Utah-Idaho Utah-Idaho Sugar Co. expressed tribute and admiration for Mr. Cobbley's honesty and hard! work to both his employers and the men with whom he worked. William C. Smith was the concluding con-cluding speaker, who told of his association with the family while the children attended Seminary, and also as a neighbor in the Grove Ward. Musical numbei-s given were a vocal duet "O My Father," by Boyd and Patricia Seely, accompanied by Chester Stone, who also payed prelude pre-lude and poatlude organ music. After closing remarks of sympathy sym-pathy and (appreciation voiced by Bishop Butler, Mrs. Hilton and Mr. Allen sang the final number-, "Beyond "Be-yond the Sunset," and Joseph Ash pronounced the benediction. Prior to the Church service, prayer at the mortuary was offered offer-ed by William J. Cullimore of Garland. Gar-land. Interment, direotedl by Olpin-Sundberg Olpin-Sundberg Mortuary, was made in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, where Leon Walker offered the dedicatorial prayer. Pallbearers were grandsons of Mr. Cobbley, Oloyd Harris, Ardell Harris, Kay Harris, Richard Cobbley, Ronald Cobbley, Gary Cobbley. . Flowers were oared for and arranged ar-ranged by Grove Ward Relief Society. |
