Show BIG VEIN FOUND NEAR HORN SILVER NEW AND OLD MINES SHOWING GREAT ACTIVITY The old Horn Silver mine at Frisco I leaped into, prominence this week through the discovery of an eight-' eight-' foot vein of steel Galena ore on the Block property situated practically on top of Silver Horn. The ore is reported re-ported to be very good stuff. It war. struck by leasors of the property, who are Lew Williams and F. L. Osborne. The vein, while not on the Horn Silver proper, is near enough that prospectors are expecting to break into a new vein in the Horn soon. The Horn Silver has contributed fortunes and had lasted thuogh all the ups and clowns of Beaver county's mining history. It is the oldest active mine near here and was first mined over fifty years ago. It has contributed over sixty million dollars, worth of wealth from its stores. There is believed be-lieved to be lots of good ore left there. Much more activity in other mines has also been noticed. Freight shipments ship-ments coming in tell of the increas in equipment being added to the various vari-ous enterprises. The Telluride Power company ran a power line out to the new Plumbic concern. The Plumbic Plum-bic is located not far from Magnolia and initial blasts were set off there about two months ago. Magnolia mining min-ing stocks took a raise a few days back, going from 58 to 65 on the reported new findings. Work at tHe Magnolia has been slow but thorough thor-ough all the way, with new layers of ore being found at various levels. The Croft mine has also been receiving re-ceiving some freight shipments so a pronounced activity can be expected there any time. |
