Mrs. Forbes, mother of Sir William Forbes, of Tits-llgo, Tits-llgo, who has Just died at the ago of eight -four, was a daughter of Alexander Alexan-der MncDonell, the sixteenth chief of Glengarry, who was an intlmnto frjend of Scott, nnd thero nre many references refer-ences to him In Lockhort's delightful biography of his father-in-law.
