Show AH i ' New Harmony by Marva D. Prince Mr. and Mrs. Randy (Carol Petty) Addy spent a few days here with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Darce Prince and Brent. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Taylor spent the night here with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Leland Taylor. They were returning to their home in Sandy after spending a few days in Las Vegas while Ray kep a doctor appointment after a recent back operation. Mrs. Elaine Averett of Cedar City spent Sunday here visiting her mother, Mrs. Olive Schmutz. The ward was saddened Saturday ' by the death of" two former residents, Mrs. Ina Grant O'Brian of Woodland, Calif, and Joseph Merlinelsey of Las Vegas, Nev. Ina was survived by her husband Glen and three daughters. Sisters Wilma Linen Salt Lake, Sharon Prince; brothers Dallas and Sheldon B. of New Harmony, Rick of Las Vegas and Rodney of Woodland, Calif. Joseph Merlin Kelsey is survived by his wife Grace Wagner Kelsey, a daughter Pattie Harden; 4 grandchildren grand-children and sister Leah K. Batty. Verl Kelsey and Ted Kelsey of New Harmony and Ferrol Kelsey of Las Vegas. Mr. Fred Melville traveled Wed. to Salt Lake City to spend a few days with relatives and friends. ' Velda Grant and a girl friend spent Christmas here with Velda's father, Sheldon B. Grant, and a sister and family Mrs. Dale (Rolaine) King. Mrs. Elva P. Kochevar of Salt Lake City spent a few days here visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Prince and to attend funeral services of Jospeh Merlin Kelsey, a cousin. Mrs. Leonard (Bea) Hurst of Calif, spent the day here visiting her brother and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Darce Prince, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Prince, Mr. and Mrs. Dean (Sylva) Hall, Sheldon Grant and Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Prince. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Hall in Cedar City., Bea and family have recently moved from New Castle to Calif. Mr. and Mrs. David Gardner are proud parents ot a new daughter born Dec. 19 at the Valley View Medical Center. The new infant was welcomed home by three brothers, Danny, " Jason and Jeremy and also by grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Leland Taylor and Mrs. Jeneva Gardner of Salt Lake. Mrs. Gardner spent a few days here helping with the new baby. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Prince and Sheldon B. Grant traveled to Woodland, Calif Saturday afternoon due to the death of Sharon's and Shneldon's sister, Ina O. Brian. Funeral Services were held Thurs. Dec 27 at 2 p.m. in the Ward Chapel for Joseph Merlin Kelsey. Bp. Joseph Walker, Pres. and conducting. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Fenn and family, their son-in-law and daughter Dale and Joeleen Hert and family are spending the Christmas Holiday in Bellf lower, Calif.' Mr. and Mrs. Paul Beatty and family left for Vernal this morning to visit with Dorothy's parents for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Arlon Cannon Huntsman spent Christmas in Cedar City with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Vickie) LeFevre and family. Doyle Whitehead spent Christmas in Henderson, Nev. with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Whitehead. Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Prince visited Friday evening in Cedar City with their friends Dale and George Halterman. A lovely supper was prepared by Dale. Dallas G. Ingrem spent a few days here with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Prisbrey. A special Christmas program for the ward was held Thurs. the 20th by the Primary and a special treat was of the visit by Santa Claus who presented a bag of candy and nuts to the children of the ward. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Kelsey announced the engagement of their daughter Verleen to Dr. Richard C. Sharp of Salt Lake City. Dr. Sharp is the chief of staff at the St. Marks Hospital. Verleen and Fiance spent a few days here with the Kelseys. Also spending the holidays here with their parents the Verl Kelseys and Jan's Parents Mr. and Mrs. Clair Stocks, of Cedar City were Deon and Jan Kelsey and family of Ft. Collins, Colo. Deon is finishing his degree as a doctor in Veterinary. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Pearce spent Christmas in Vegas with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Verla) Cripps and family , and Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Pearce. Mrs. Nancy Iverson and son Jeremy Iverson spent a few days in Las Vegas, Nev. While there, Nancy and her husband Bevan attended the company party where Brian works. Bevan returned home with his family to spend Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Prince received calls from their missionaries Elder Elvin F. Prince serving in Pascagolila, Miss, and Elder Gary Prince serving in Katy , Texas. Both report they are doing great and enjoying their mission very much and wish to the ward members and many friends a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. - |
