Show Whiting claimed in Temple rites preparing for Summer graduation from SUSC with a major in Elementary Ed. She was a member of the Acapella, SUSC Senate, Election Chairman, Chair-man, Women's Vice-Pres. of LDSSA and Stake Young Adults. Mr. Peterson is also a graduate of Cedar High where he was a member of Acapella. He is attending at-tending SUSC where he is on the Senate, Program Advisor for the LDSSA, and on the SUSC honor roll. ' Rites solemnized in the Manti Temple November 22 united Miss Ellen Fae Whiting and Lee Merrill Peterson in marriage. President Daniels officiated at the double ring ceremony. Parents of the young Cedar City couple are Mr. and Mrs. Jack E. Whiting and Mr. and Mrs. Merrill R. Peterson. The bride greeted guests at their reception Nov. 23 in the Enchanted Gardens in a white nylon organza dress. The gown fell from an A-line waist accented ac-cented with a bow in back, to a very full skirt. It was trimmed at the neck, cuffs, bodice, and hemline with nylon pleating and daisy-lace with seed pearls. Long sleeves and a high neckline added to the simple elegance of the gown. Her fingertip veil fell from a crown of white pearls and crystal beads. She carried a bouquet of red and white rosebuds, white carnations, baby breath and pink orchids with red and pink streamers. Attending the bride were Miss Debby Whiting, Mrs. Diane Gardner, Miss Barbara Peterson, Peter-son, Miss Janet Peterson, Miss Gayle Bulloch; Mrs. Luanne Brown. They wore dresses of flowered taffeta with pink and burgandy featuring high necklines, ruffled hemlines, full sleeves and a tie in back to accent ac-cent the waistline. They carried nosegays of red roses, pink carnations with lace and burgancy ribbons. Sharing the honor of best man were Ivan Peterson, Don Rowley, Bruce- Whiting, Howard Thorley, and Gary Nakken. The mothers of the bridal couple wore long burgandy dresses of velvet with empire waistlines. Each had a pink glamelia corsage. Acting as hostesses for the reception were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Robinson and Mr. and Mrs. Gail Duncan. Miss Susan Spencer received the gifts while Mrs. Vicki Lamoreaux presided at the guest book. A special program was presented among the garden scene with Victorian chairs and white fence. Accenting the color scheme of pink and burgandy was the three-tiered white wedding cake trimmed in pink and topped with pink satin wedding bells. Special out-of-town guests were grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Hancock and Mr. and Mrs. E. Bouvang. They were introduced by Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thorley, Mr. and Mrs. Ardeen Childs, and Mr. and Mrs. Cal Carter. The newlyweds were also feted at a luncheon in Salina following the wedding ceremony hosted by the Petersons for family and friends. Prenuptial festivities included a bridal shower given by Miss Susan Spencer.
