Mortensen of Parowan, will be honored by their children at an open house to celebrate their Golden Wedding anniversary. anni-versary. Saturday, May 20, 1972. The cpen house will be held from eight until ten p. m. at the First-Second Ward Church in Parowan at 87 West Center Street. They request no gifts. Delbert is a son of the late Joseph Edgar and Isabella Ward Mortensen and Arvilla is the daughter of the late William Wil-liam and Nannie Osborne Eyre. The Mortenscns were married mar-ried Apr. 19. 1922, Parowan at what was known as the Paxton Hotel. They were the first couple to be married by Bishop Bish-op L. Nelson Marsden. The marriage was later solemnized solemniz-ed in the St. George Temple. Delbert is a retired employee employ-ee of Utah Construction C. 1 and Arvilla is a housewife and has bom active in the auxiliary auxil-iary organisation of the LDS Church. They are the parents of two sons and two daughters. The also have 17 grandchil-. grandchil-. dren and three great-grand-1 children. The children are Grant, i who with his wife, the former i Mary Manning live in Cano-) Cano-) ga Park, Calif, where he is an , employee of Lockheed Office I personnel. Bculah, wife of Mr. ! Al Jones, formerly of Cedar j City who live in Parowan and : she operates a floral business, j Milton, whose wife is the for-I for-I mcr Jean Willison of Beaver, and reside in Henderson, Nev. where he is staff assistant at Stauffer Chemical Co.. The youngest daughter Gretta is ;the wife nf former Parowan i resident Wayne V. Merkeley. :Thry live in Des Moines, Iowa ; where he is an assistant pro-; pro-; lessor at Drake University. The children and most of j the grandchildren will be here for the occasion, and invite in-vite and friends and relative to attend and help them celebrate cele-brate the occasion. |
