Davies Recite Vows in Double-ring Temple Ceremony A double-ring ceremony performed per-formed by Pres. Rudger C. Atkin in the St. George Temple Tem-ple on June 26 united Miss Jolynn Swenson and David B. Davies in marriage. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Swenson, Lindon, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan J. Davies, Kan-arraville. Kan-arraville. The newlyweds were honored honor-ed at a reception in Lindon on June 28 and at an open house in Kanarraville at the Davies home on June 26. A special wedding dinner was held in 'he St. George East Stake Center immediately following the wedding. The event was hosted by Mrs. G. Bud Nelson of Cedar and Mrs. Barr Brinton, Midvale. There were 68 friends and family members of the newlyweds present to enjoy the' meal and the special program which honored the young couple. The program consisted of a song by Mrs. Dale Gubler, "Melody of Love" sung by Cammy Gubler, a coronet duet by Doyle Smith and Mark Gubler, a piano solo by Kathy Gubler, a reading by LaDawn Gubler, and two numbers by Victor Decker who sang and played the guitar. Miss Kathy Gubler accompanied all musical mus-ical numbers except the coronet cor-onet duet which was accompanied accom-panied by Brenda Gubler. The bride's gown was de-lustered de-lustered satin trimmed in lace. A floor-length veil mantel and bouquet of glamelias completed com-pleted the bridal picture. The attendants, Mrs. Rex Richins, Mrs. Gary Hunter, Mrs. John Baxter, Mrs. Frank Mills, Miss Clara Ann Hooley, and Miss Glenda Richins, wore blue taffeta with blue and lavender chiffon. Flower girl was Kaylene Richins. Henry B. Blake was best man and.B. N. Williams, Rex Richins, and 'Gary Hunter w.exeJh.e ushers. . Mrs. Swenson wore a pink double knit, and Mrs. Davies wore a blue crepe. Both ensembles en-sembles were completed with corsages of Cymbidium orchids. or-chids. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Sylvester (he was a former mission companion com-panion or the bridegroom's) greeted guests at the door of tne uavies nome. Pre-nuptial courtesies extended ex-tended to the 'bride included showers given1 by Mrs. Brent Hunter, Mrs. Frank Mills, Mrs. John Baxter, Mrs. Paul Giles, Miss Clara, Ann Hooley, Mrs. O. L- Swenson, and Mrs. Bud Nelson. C- 'v The bride's going away costume cos-tume was a circle skirt with a tunic of dacron in orange, green and white. The newlyweds spent a week honeymooning at Bear Lake, the Tetons, and Yellowstone Yellow-stone Park. The bride is a ' Pleasant Grove High School graduate. She graduated as an honor student with a four year scholarship to the college of her choice. She attended CSU where she was affiliated with Lambda Delta Sigma. The bridegroom graduated from Cedar High School and has been attending CSU where he is a member of Sigma Gamma Chi. He filled a North German mission for the LDS Church and is now employed at State Bank of Southern Utah. |
