Show I Services Honor Glen C. Garfield, Las Vegas, Nev.; Mrs. Hale C. (Darla) Mellor, Granger: I Charles Reed Garfield and Myra Joy Garfield of Cedar City. Also surviving are four grandchildren and three brothers bro-thers and sisters: Elwin B. Garfield, Calif.; Mrs. John (Faye) Boyce. Salt Lake City: Mrs. Wm. (Leona) Haslam, Denver, Colo.; and Mrs. Mel-vin Mel-vin (LaVern) Jackson, Yakima, Yak-ima, Washington. GLEN CHARLES GARFIELD .'Glen Charles Garfield, 57, who retired from the Iron County School District two years ago, died at the Valley View Medical Center, Sunday, July 23, following a long illness. ill-ness. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p. m. in the Enoch Ward Chapel. He was born December 2, 1909, at Eureka to Charles Levi and Ada Clayson Garfield. Gar-field. He married Delia Chris-tensen Chris-tensen March 21, 1942, in Evanston, Wyo. The marriage was later solmnized in the LDS Temple. Active in affairs of the church, he served a LDS mission mis-sion to the Western States in 1936 and has filled assignments assign-ments as a teacher in MIA, Sunday School and various Priesthood groups. He was also a Sunday School assistant assist-ant on both a ward and stake basis and was assistant ward genealogist. Professionally, he was an educator serving as a principal princi-pal of the Roosevelt Elementary Elemen-tary School and as a teacher in the Iron County School system for 11 years before his retirement two years ago. He was a veteran of World War II. Speaker at the services was Oscar Hulet with remarks by Irving Garfield on his early life, Rulan Woodbury, and Bp. Henry Grimshaw. Family prayer was given by Alan Garfield. Invocation at the services was by Evan Math-eson, Math-eson, the benediction by Edward Ed-ward A. Parry, and the dedication dedi-cation of the grave at the Cedar City Cemetery was by Elwin B. Garfield. Special musical selections included two numbers by the |
