Show City continues program of street oiling Cedar City Council authorized author-ized the continuation of the program for oiling streets cuiib to cuJb again this year in cooperation with property owners. Under the program the property prop-erty owners will be given the opportunity to take advantage of the city's equipment and to cunb street oiling, Mayor Loren Whetten stated. Under the program the city provides engineering, excavating excava-ting for cunb and gutter, hauling haul-ing away excess burden and road preparation. The property owner is expec-ted expec-ted to provide his own curb and gutter and the cost of the mulch installation which is charged out on the same rate to the property owners as it is bid to the city, the Mayor said. "Last year this program proved highly successful, re- ' suiting in the most extensive curb to curb oiling project in . the history of the city," Mayor Whetten stated. The council is hopeful that property owners will again cooperate co-operate to extend the development develop-ment and beautification of . the city under the cooperative program. Streets interested should contact the city in the near future in order that the proposed pro-posed oiling can be made a part of the budgeting for the fiscal year beginning July 1. Last year the project was not completed but committments committ-ments are now being honored and oiling is expected to be completed this month to meet ( the committments of last year, ( Mayor Whetten said. t "Hopefully we can initiate t the projects in sufficient time this year to complete them before be-fore bad weather sets in," he concluded. |
